Charleston street scene watercolor print with white 1.5" mat.
This painting depicts one of Charleston's main streets, Calhoun Street, looking west from the corner of East Bay. The house in the painting would have bordered Gadsdenboro, a predominantly black neighborhood, before it was demolished by the City of Charleston in 1992. Two tourists wander along Calhoun and pause at the corner of East Bay. I snapped the reference photo while wandering around on my lunch break.
